Ortech Industries specialises in the conversion of a largely wasted resource, wheat or rice straw fibre into strong, tough and durable construction boards – Durra Panel and Durra Wall.  The wheat or rice straw fibre is a waste by-product of farming that is in plentiful supply and usually burned after the harvest.  An environmental hazard.

 

Ortech Industries has delivered a unique and innovative manufacturing process, which is the result of over 40 years ongoing research and product development to produce new Durra Panel and Durra Wall.

 

The Durra manufacturing process combines extreme heat and compression in a unique dry extrusion process to form the solid Durra core.  No chemical binding agents, glues or resins are added during panel core production, a natural polymer in the straw fibre is released during the extrusion process to form the core.  A water based PVA glue is used to encapsulate the finished core with a high strength water resistant recycled paper liner.
