Architectural Draftsperson / Building Designer

Our vision is to be the leading manufacturer of the world’s most sustainable building material and to see it used extensively across the globe.

About The Role

With the growth that is happening in our Modular Buildings department and the launch of new residential designs, we are looking for a qualified and experienced person to join our growing team. The role requires someone with a passionate interest in the intricate detail and construction of our residential and commercial buildings using Durra Panel throughout the design process.

You will be working on projects from start to finish which includes being involved in the design stage direct with the clients and our Client Liaison Officer on designing their dream homes, coordinating and submitting planning & building permits & preparing construction drawings for our team to build the homes in our factory.

Key Responsibilities

• Proficient experience with Revit/AutoCAD (AutoCAD a plus but not essential)
• A high degree of technical, construction and design skills using Revit.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high quality & accurate plans and details.
• Ability to handle all aspects of drafting from concept stage through to full working & construction drawings on Revit.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach is essential to produce construction detailing and documentation.
• Interpreting plans and understanding detailed drawings.
• Update and modify designs based on new information and requirements.
• Liaising with consultants, construction team, engineers and council departments to ensure a smooth building process.

Essential Skills & Attributes

• Experience in the domestic or commercial building market.
• Proficient in Revit.
• Exceptional time management.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• A strong work ethic and ability to multitask.
• Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills when communicating with clients & consultants.
• Proven negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of council function and building authorities processes.
• Solid knowledge of design standards and preferably new home builds.
• Proven understanding of NCC and relevant Australian standards.
